We are happy to share that two films out of European Work in Progress Cologne’s project selection 2018 are about to have their World Premiere: LA FILLE AU BRACELET (FR/BE) directed by Stéphane Demoustier (prod.: Petit Film, world sales: Charades) on the Piazza Grande of the 72. Locarno Film Festival and MARTIN EDEN (I/GER/FR) directed by Pietro Marcello (prod.: Avventurosa/Match Factory Productions/Shellac Sud, world sales: The Match Factory) as part of the international competition of the 76. Venice Film Festival!

Furthermore, the response to the second edition of European Work in Progress Cologne has been overwhelming: around 100 film projects from 34 European countries have reached us so far. Among them are international co-productions with teams from Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, India, Iran, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Malaysia, USA, Mexico, Colombia, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Equatorial Guinea, Senegal and Ghana.

Due to this amazing response we have decided to give more projects the chance to participate and thus, extended the deadline for submissions until August 15, 2019!

We are excited to see the fantastic projects you currently have in production or that you are shooting this summer/autumn, and would appreciate if you share and help spread the word within your network.

Our selection committee will choose up to 25 producers of feature films who will have the opportunity to present first scenes to the attending group of buyers, distributors, festival programmers, financiers as well as other key decision makers and experts to give them an ahead of the game look and to find complementary partners in their final stage of production.

At the last edition around 250 industry delegates from 33 countries attended the event.

Who can submit?
Eligible are high-profile feature-length film projects in production or post-production with at least one European country involved and an international market potential. Fiction, documentary and animation films can be submitted, whereas the focus is on narrative film.

A renowned jury will acknowledge the winners with awards including post-production services and international festival publicity worth 50,000 € provided by our partners ARRI MediaK13 StudiosEclair and ZOOM Medienfabrik.

EWIP will take place from October 14-16, 2019 during the Film Festival Cologne and will be accompanied by individual one-to-one-meetings, evening events as well as panel discussions in cooperation with Creative Europe Desk Germany and EAVE.
