3. June 2026 | redaktion2 This autumn, European Work in Progress (EWIP) will be held for the second time in its new home, Hamburg, from 28 September to September 30 2026, in collaboration with FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY, the MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, and with the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme. The Call for Entries is now open until 17 August 2026. Eligible for submission are European productions or co-productions involving at least one European country, currently in principal photography, post-production, or any late production stage. Up to 25 European feature films—including fiction, animation, and documentary—will be selected to present their works-in-progress exclusively to an audience of international sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, and other key film industry professionals. Projects must have footage available for presentation and be seeking either final financing support or strategic partners for international distribution. This year will see a continuation of the African Focus. EWIP will accept up to three projects from Africa, which do not need to be an European production or co-production. All other criteria apply. Selected projects for EWIP Hamburg 2025 will compete for EWIP Awards, judged by a jury of esteemed film industry professionals. This year, EWIP Hamburg offers a total prize pool of €100,000, made possible by the generous support of our sponsors: The Post Republic, K13 Studio, the consortium Northern Stars – Hamburg Film Partners (Loft Tonstudios, Zeigermann_Audio, Optical Arts, Zeitkostüm GmbH), Gruvi, and Wayfilm.
