Call for Entries is now open for the next edition of European Work in Progress Cologne | Oct. 14-16, 2019 at the Filmforum (Museum Ludwig)

European Work in Progress Cologne is an independent industry event for European and German film producers, distributors, sales agents, broadcasting companies and financiers.

EWIP will take place from October 14-16, 2019 during the Film Festival Cologne. European Work in Progress Cologne is hosted by AG Verleih, the association of German independent distributors and supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, one of Germany’s leading film funding institutions.

Deadline for submissions: July 31, 2019.

A selection committee will choose up to 25 producers of high-quality films with an international market potential who will have the chance to present excerpts of their already shot material to the attending group of experienced professionals.

Who can apply?
Producers with films from European countries or international co-productions with at least one European country involved.

The aim is to find distributors for an adequate international release strategy, a world sales company, other creative partners or to close a gap in the final financing of the project as well as to present the film at an early stage to festival programmers.

An international jury of film experts will acknowledge the winners of the best pitches with awards including post-production services worth 50,000 € provided by our partners MMC, K13 Studios and Éclair.

At the last edition more than 100 feature film projects involving 49 countries world-wide had reached us and 200 industry delegates from 33 countries attended the event.

Several deals were closed with world sales companies as well as distributors, some negotiations are still on-going. In the aftermath of European Work in Progress Cologne, three presented projects received an invitation to premiere at the Berlinale and the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

European Work in Progress Cologne will be accompanied by various panel discussions in cooperation with Creative Europe Desk NRW and EAVE.
