Preparations for the 8th edition of European Work in Progress (EWIP) are in full swing. For the first time, the event will take place in Hamburg, from 29 September to 1 October 2025, in collaboration with FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS, the MOIN Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, and with the support of the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme.

We’re excited to announce a new partnership for this editionOneGate Media, the long-standing distribution company, which is an ARD (German public broadcaster) sales subsidiary and part of the Studio Hamburg Group, will sponsor one of EWIP’s top three awards.

The newly introduced EWIP OneGate Media Award includes a license purchase offer for television rights for Germany + Austria in the amount of 20,000 euros —bringing this year’s EWIP Awards a total prize pool of €140,000. This is made possible by the generous support of our partners: the consortium Northern Stars – Hamburg Film Partners (Loft Tonstudios, CineGate, Zeigermann_Audio, Optical Arts, Zeitkostüm GmbH), The Post RepublicK13 StudiosD-Facto MotionGruviWay Film, and mm filmpresse. The prizes will be awarded among the selected projects by a jury of esteemed film industry professionals.

Eligible submissions include European productions or co-productions involving at least one European country, currently in principal photographypost-production, or any late production stage.

Up to 30 European feature films—including fiction, animation, and documentary— with available footage will be selected to present their works-in-progress exclusively to an audience of international sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, and other key film industry professionals.

As part of an ongoing partnership with TorinoFilmLab, a curated selection of post-production projects developed within FeatureLabScriptLab, or supported by TFL Funds will be included in the EWIP 2025 lineup.

The deadline to submit projects is 14 August 2025.
