European co-productions will be acknowledged with awards in a total value of 52,500 EUR

The fourth edition of European Work in Progress Cologne (EWIP) 2021 continues the successful cooperation with the partners and award sponsors of the past years.

Foremost, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, one of Europe’s leading film funding institutions, maintain their continuous valuable support. The industry event takes place also due to the reliable cooperation with the Film Festival Cologne and AG Verleih, the association of German independent film distributors.

Emphasizing their dedicated engagement, the award sponsors of the past years continue the partnership as well. Among these award sponsors are K13 Studios with sound mixing and dubbing services worth a total of 15,000 EUR, LAVAlabs Moving Images, endowed with postproduction services worth 10,000 EUR, ARRI Media, awarding post-production services worth 5,000 EUR, and ZOOM Medienfabrik, supporting the winners with public relations services worth 7,500 EUR at an international festival.

After having been on board as a partner twice in the past, MMC Studios Cologne are now sponsoring two awards for studio rental services in this year’s edition of EWIP. The first MMC Studios Award will be endowed with 10,000 EUR, the second one includes studio rental services worth 5,000 EUR.

The international jury, comprised of long-time Arte editor and director Alexander Bohr (Mainz), Clémence Lavigne, co-head of sales and acquisitions for The Party Film Sales (Paris), Daniel Melamed, film distributor and CEO of New Cinema Ltd. (Tel Aviv), Aranka Matits, founder of the Featurette agency (Amsterdam) as well as Fabian Massah, film producer and managing director of Endorphine Production (Berlin), will once again acknowledge the winners of the best pitches with awards in a total value of 52,500 EUR.

The main venue, the Cinenova cinema, is already known from last year’s edition of EWIP. Other solidly built partnerships include the Creative Europe Desks Germany and Creative Europe Desk NRW along with the City of Cologne. For the first time, the AMERON Regent Hotel Cologne will host the attending industry delegates.

For participation a prior registration per e-mail to accreditation@european-work-in-progress.eu is required.

The industry event will take place in compliance with the applicable distance and hygiene rules.
